For the first time in a long time I have NO interest in the Academy Awards. Zero. None. I read about half of an article about the nominations and finally clicked away because I just don’t care.
Netflix will do that to you – since I rarely see movies in the theater any more, and RARELY see movies as soon as they come out on DVD, I have found that over time I know less and less of the nominees. This year? I think Ratatouille is the only one I’ve seen. *lol* Wait – did Shrek 2 get nominated for anything? I saw that one too.
We’ve had our Netflix membership on hold since early December. It comes off hold in April – although I may put it on hold again for a few more months after that. And only occasionally in the past couple months have I sat in front of the tv and thought, “Wow, I really wish I had a new movie to watch right now.” Even with the writer’s strike going on I’ve been able to find fun stuff to watch on TV.
So yeah, I doubt I’ll be tuning in to the Oscars this year.
