I just got an email from HR saying the following:
I show that you have 7.5 hours of PTO left in 2007. Is this correct? If so, would you like to carry it over or be paid out?
It makes me sick to think that I may have had a day left after all. We get 18 days off a year – both vacation and sick time. I am pretty positive I used all 18 days (if not a little more, to be honest). I was able to account for the equivalent of 16 days off just now, but can’t find the other two days. What sucks? Just TWO DAYS AGO I threw out the sheet of paper I used to track all of my vacation in 2007. I didn’t think I needed it anymore!! AAAAUUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!
I wrote HR back and told her that I was positive I used all my time, but could only account for 16 days total, and that I left it up to her as to what to do with that 7.5 hours.
Of course, I’m secretly hoping she pays it out or moves it forward. That would be AWESOME.
Won’t happen though. She’s a stickler.
I’ve taken every day allotted to me for the past three years, yet still have a balance of 38 hours I carry over every year. It’ll come in handy someday, I’m sure. 🙂
