97 Percent

That’s how much billionaire Barron Hilton is giving to charity upon his death. 97 percent of his fortune, which currently comes in at about 2.3 BILLION dollars. That money will be placed into a charitable trust that will eventually benefit the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. The Foundation supports projects that provide clean water in Africa, education for blind children, and housing for the mentally ill (just to name a few).

Jerry Oppenheimer, who profiled the Hilton family in his 2006 book “House of Hilton,” has said Barron Hilton is embarrassed by the behavior of his socialite granddaughter Paris and believes it has sullied the family name.

Gee, you think?

Now, 97% of 2.3 billion dollars still leaves a healthy $69 million to get passed down to Barron’s descendents. So it’s not like Paris and her equally repulsive siblings will be living on bread and water any time soon. But I sincerely hope that Barron’s children (Paris, Nikki’s and Barron III’s parents in particular) will continue the trend and donate 97% of THEIR fortunes to charity upon their deaths as well. If only to make up for Paris’ less-than-stellar behavior.

*sigh* I know – it won’t happen. But it would be nice if it did, wouldn’t it?

As nice as it would be to have the additional money, Paris Hilton is a Millionaire of her own accord. As is her sister. Not that I think her daily routine of being a sl*t in public is charming or needed, but she wouldn’t suffer if her GDaddy left her nothing. So she probably could careless what he thinks of her shinanigans
