Last night we had a big Christmas dinner with our small group. We were at a different house this time – one in Tega Cay. It was my first time driving through an actual subdivision in Tega Cay and all I have to say is WOW. R/A’s house was magnificent – not just on the inside but also their hilarious Griswaldian light display on the outside of the house. Anyway, as we were getting ready to eat, CootieGirl told me she wanted to say the amens. I told the group, and they were up for it. CG then chose who she wanted to finish the prayer (Daddy), and with that we bowed our heads.
“Thank you for this day. Thank you for this food. Thank you for our friends. And thank you for everything. Amen.”
Denis finished out the prayer and eating commenced. I told one of the women in the group that we were lucky that the prayer didn’t include intercessory prayers for Cookie Monster, as the last dinner prayer CG gave did.
