A couple weeks ago Denis introduced CootieGirl to The Beatles. Since CootieGirl loves everything Daddy loves, she now loves The Beatles. She’s 4 1/2 years old, and already begs to hear “Yellow Submarine” when she’s home from daycare. I’m totally curious to know which Beatle she ends up favoring when she’s older (I was partial to George until I found out what a creepy guy he was in the late 60s and early 70s, and quickly switched over to pre-Yoko John).
CootieBoy, on the other hand, is still in love with Broadway and now loves to be serenaded with “Over the Rainbow” from Wizard of Oz while I put him to bed. Tonight I tried singing “Blackbird” by The Beatles and he listened for a minute before saying, “No, Mommy. I want ‘Rainbow.'” Then he requested the theme from An American Tail, which we haven’t sung in a long time.
At one point CootieBoy also requested to hear ‘Daddy’s Song’ and for the life of me I tried to think of the melody for the Monkees song by that title but couldn’t remember it.
