No, not down here. But apparently up in NJ they got snow today. Ace emailed me to say that he couldn’t get out of his driveway this morning (their new house features a downsloping driveway) so he had to get out and snowblow the whole way up so that he could eventually get out. He then said when he got to work there was NO snow there. Have I mentioned that Ace and Anthony recently moved to the boondocks of outer Jersey? The house is lovely, but that commute in a snowstorm is going to be killer.
As for us in NC/SC, it is 71 degrees here today. With weather like that in SC we are NEVER going to use our snowblower. I initially worried that this warm spell would last through the weekend, once again putting my craft market blanket sales in jeopardy. However, a quick glance at the extended forecast for Raleigh, NC shows that Saturday should be in the mid-50s. PERFECT blanket weather. So I’m very excited about that and will try and make a couple more blankets between now and then to take with me.
Speaking of winter, though, guess how many houses now have their Christmas decorations up already? I counted three on the way to band practice on Thursday night, and over the weekend saw a few more. We’ll be putting our own decorations up on Friday. CootieGirl went with Denis to Costco over the weekend and they picked up a cute lighted garland that she is very excited about putting up somewhere in the house.
Stupid Snow…
It’s been hovering around 80 here for the last three weeks…Wednesday though, a “cold front” is supposed to come through and knock us into Fall for good. About time!
We have one person in our neighborhood who put up their Christmas decorations the day after Halloween…and we saw someone’s tree up in their living room this past weekend.
We’re doing our house this weekend too…the Saturday after Thanksgiving…that’s our tradition.
