Our kitchen, while definitely an upgrade from our last house, will be fiddled with in coming years. The cabinets will all remain, as will all appliances. But surfaces will change, the sink will change. Right now our stovetop has no backsplash, resulting in a greasy sheen on the wall behind it. I’d love to install some kind of funky glass tiles to spruce it up when the time comes. It is a transitional type kitchen – not overtly modern but not old-fashioned either. It’s that true generic “builder grade” kitchen in most newish homes. Since I don’t want to repaint any walls, I’d continue the neutral color scheme and go with a nice creamy backsplash with hints of cafe brown.
CootieGirl can’t grow up fast enough – it all hinges on when she starts school full-time. *lol*
