A Great Thing!

Great news! Okay, so two hours ago CootieGirl ate a pancake and a cup of applesauce along with some water to drink. And it has stayed down. Not only that, but she has her energy back – she’s running around the house and chirping with conversation, unlike the zombie I’ve dealt with the past two days.

As soon as the pancake and applesauce was devoured, she asked for more food. I didn’t give her any. For the past two hours, every 15 minutes or so, I’ve asked her how she’s doing, and she happily responds, “Good – can I have skettios now?”

Soon after her breakfast I decided to set the kitchen timer and told her that if she didn’t throw up at all before the timer goes off, I’d make her some skettios. The timer has 10 minutes to go. And she’s not nauseated at all.

YAY! I think we turned the corner!!!

I’m going to wait until 3:15 p.m. and if she continues to do well and keep her food down I’m going to cancel the doctor appointment at 3:30 p.m.

Update at 2:35 p.m.: She is still doing very well. She ate half a can of skettios and another cup of applesauce for lunch and is now coloring in her coloring book in the other room. I’m feeling confident about cancelling that appointment this afternoon, but will wait another 45 minutes before making that call.

Update at 4:33 p.m.: CootieGirl is still doing great. No sign of nausea and she has continued asking for food (she had two slices of cheese a little while ago). She’s sitting here in the office with me watching “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends” on Cartoon Network (LOVE that cartoon).
