I’m still missing some sidebar stuff, but for the most part the new theme is setup.
What I like about this theme is that now that I’ve done my WordPress upgrade to version 2.2.2 I am widget-ready. I have a lot of handcoded stuff in my sidebars, and now I don’t have to worry about having to add that back in every time I change themes. Now the handcoded stuff is in text widgets and will ALWAYS be available regardless of what theme I switch to. The one widget that is not working for NO apparent reason is the Netflix widget. So I tried creating a text widget using the code I had on the previous theme, and the code went all wonky and broke. So I removed the Netflix widget for now until I can find out why it’s not working correctly.
I’m going to find a way to get the text to show up a bit brighter in the posts themselves – I know that Amy (who uses this theme for the moment although she plans to change soon (thus the reason I opted to “take” it)) has also had issues with the slightly-hard-to-see text. I wonder if it’s as easy as just increasing the font size a tad? Will have to check into that.
Update at 5:00 p.m.: I upped the font size and I think it’ll be okay until I can darken the green background a bit to make the white text more pronounced. I know we’re heading into fall, so this theme is about 5 months behind, but that’s okay.
gosh, we’re like twins 😉
For a second I thought I had clicked the wrong link, which didn’t seem possible since Amy’s blog is in another list on my blog. But I like it.
I like it as well – but man is it different! 🙂
hey, love the new layout!
