Stuff

The drive home yesterday was uneventful and quick. Left my folks’ at 10:45 a.m. and walked in the house at 5:05 p.m. and only made one stop for gas and food. I set up my portable DVD player and “watched” Harry Potter #4 and a few episodes of Freaks and Geeks before putting in Shaun of the Dead for the last 45 minutes of the trip. Having that thing made the time go by SO MUCH FASTER.

Played with the kids for a couple hours while Denis went out to do some shopping. Put the kids to bed then chilled in front of the tv while Denis worked on the computer. A nice restful evening after the work that was done this weekend.

In some funny news, our neighbor had his lawn service mow our lawn over the weekend. Apparently he had his lawn treated for weeds and so that it would be more effective he asked his lawn service to cut our lawn, which was overdue (again) for a cut. So they did the front and back!! Trim and all! *lol* At least it wasn’t the HOA that did it…

So I’m back at work today and a bit sore, but none the worse for wear.

I bought tickets for Denis and me to see the “Last Comic Standing” tour that will be coming through Charlotte in October. We got great seats (8th row center) and it should be a good time out.

Tomorrow is our firm mini-golf tourney here in the office. They have actually requested that all staff leave for the day at 5:30 p.m. so that the staff doesn’t hinder the game. HILARIOUS and YAY since I really wanted to take the kids to the pool tomorrow since it’s going up to 99 degrees during the day. By getting home at 6 p.m. this will give us almost two full hours in the pool.

As for the keyboard, negative feedback has been left for the seller, and I have sent in a fraud report to eBay (as have four other buyers who won auctions from the guy in the past two weeks). Fortunately, I never sent payment and I alerted eBay that I’m willing to take one negative feedback and an “unpaid” on my up-to-now spotless record rather than send in over $500 to a seller who potentially doesn’t have a keyboard to ship. I’m just very grateful that one particularly disgruntled eBayer contacted me to find out about my experience with the guy. It eventually unraveled and there are at LEAST five buyers (most likely more) who have had bad vibes from this seller since winning items. Unfortunately, two of those people paid and will most likely lose that money, which is a shame. I’m just bummed that I’m on the hunt again for a Korg keyboard.

Just so it’s clear. I believe our neighbor actually did the lawn mowing.

The service he uses only sprayed his yard. Get ready. We’ll bake that cake tonight.
