I turned 38 this morning. Thirty-eight! I don’t feel 38. In my head I feel….about 27. I’ve felt 27 since I got married. Not that marriage makes me young – if anything I look 100% worse than I did on my wedding day. But my state of mind kind of stopped on my wedding day so I still feel (and act) 27. Except for the occasional creaking in my knees and hips.
The morning was good – lots of fun pressies from my family. Some great books – both fiction and art-related. And Jen and Beau gave me a print of the picture you see above. Believe it or not the original was done in ONLY PENCIL. Isn’t it amazing? I love that artist and am so thrilled to have that print!!
Once at the office I got a nice $50 check from my company and a bouquet of flowers from my new boss (for which Mr. BIL took all the credit, a la Elaine taking credit for the big salad on Seinfeld).
It’s a dark and rainy day today, which is appropriate since I have to work all day. If it had been beautiful and sunny I would have been ticked that I’m at work instead of enjoying a vacation day like I normally do on my birthday!! I’m working today since I had to use three vacation days when CootieBoy was sick back in April.
But hopefully it’ll be a good day and a quiet evening. Actually, tonight will NOT be a quiet evening since I have to get everything together for my art market tomorrow evening. So tonight will be quite busy, actually.

Happy, Happy Birthday to you from your Mom, Dad and CootieGirl. She misses you today and has said often that it is your birthday. We just got back from spending time with Uncle Beau, Aunt Jen and Jesse. Uncle B. took CootieGirl to the pool. She’s a card shark ~ she just wipped me again at “Go Fish.”
