Long Night

Last night was a long night. I went straight from work to music practice. Practice went really well – I like our set this week, including a new song by Matt Redman called “Yes and Amen”. The group we have playing on Sunday really gels well together and I’m looking forward to it.

I got home around 9:30 p.m. to cries of “Mommy! Mommy!” Denis was just starting to put the kids to bed after their baths. It felt great to walk in and have CootieBoy holler, “I want Mama!” (meaning he wanted me to be the one to put him to bed). He was so cute and in such a great mood I just kept hugging him over and over again while I put him to bed.

Once they were down for the night I hopped on the computer to start working on the changes to my mom’s tea newsletter. It took a while because I was getting the edits over the course of a couple hours, but I finally got it done around 11:00 p.m. or so and immediately set to work on figuring out why the Blog RSS feed I was attempting to put on her new website wasn’t working. In the end I found a free script online which worked fine (albeit not as fancy) as opposed to the scriptware I was having issues with.

Tonight is a corporate-sponsored event – we’re going to the Charlotte Knights game in Fort Mill. I’m looking forward to it, although I know we won’t be there too long because of the kids. With any luck Mr. BIL will let me leave early so that I can meet Denis at home and *then* go to the game as opposed to meeting Denis at the stadium and having two cars there.

Tomorrow I’m determined to get CootieBoy (and CootieGirl) to the neighborhood pool for some fun. I know once CootieBoy goes he’ll want to go every night. I think he just doesn’t remember what a POOL is (he hasn’t seen one since last summer which is eternity in the mind of a toddler).
