I had an eye appointment at America’s Best this morning to get new glasses to replace the ones that CootieBoy broke this past weekend. I love America’s Best because they stand by their promise to get you two pairs of classes for $69.00 with a free exam. My actual total with tax came to $93.00, and that’s only because I requested that the lenses be scratch-resistant. That added $18 to the $69. Add in tax and voila – two pairs of glasses for under $100!
I got one plastic frame and one metal frame, both of similar shape. They are different than any other glasses I’ve had in my life, and I think they looked good. I should get them in about ten days or so.
At this point, though, I’m used to wearing the contact lenses and may just have the glasses be for weekends and nights. Yesterday I wore the contact lenses from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 a.m. and never had my eyes get tired, so that’s a good sign that my eyes have finally adjusted to wearing them.
But I can’t wait to get my glasses. There’s something comforting about having glasses when you’ve worn them all your life.
But CootieBoy had better keep his grubby mitts off ’em.
