As an evangelical Christian, I get so frustrated when prominent Christians make provocative comments. Unfortunately, what usually happens is they say something within a larger statement and the media takes a snippet completely out of context.
Not that I’m defending Jerry yet. I haven’t read the article. And I’m not a big fan of him. He tends to run off his mouth a little too much for my taste.
I agree, he may have been taken out of context, and that the news tends to sensationalize everything, but this guy has a track record for inciting hatred. He’s not going to run for president again in 2004, is he?

Was he taken out of context last year when he said that “9/11 was our punishment from God because of gays and liberals”?
