Movie: Flyboys

I watched half of this movie on the plane ride back from Scotland a couple weeks ago, and upon returning home I promptly bumped it to the top of the Netflix list so I could see the rest. Let’s get this part out of the way: James Franco is hot. Okay. Moving on.

What a nice movie! Amazon describes it as, “The adventures of the Lafayette Escadrille, young Americans who volunteered for the French military before the U.S. entered World War I, and became the country’s first fighter pilots.”

A nice cast and a decent script made this one enjoyable to watch. The aviator scenes are amazing to watch on a large screen (I can only imagine what it might have looked like in a movie theater).

Oh, and did I mentioned that James Franco is hot? I loved him in “Freaks and Geeks” and he was good in this one as well.

His eyebrow rivals that of Hugh Jackman when playing Wolverine.

3 1/2 dogfights out of five.
