After discussion with various people and showing my fish and cloud paintings to people, I’ve decided what I’m going to do. I’m going to focus on the acrylics, and do “baby art”. Moms are always decorating nurseries, and always want cute little paintings or pictures for the room. I’m going to focus on acrylic paintings of baby-related items. Baby bottles, pacifiers, teddy bears, butterflies, fish, building blocks, trees, trains, bibs, etc. I’ll do them in a multitude of colors from bright to pastel. Most will be 8 x 10s, but I may do 9 x 12s as well. Since I’m going to stick with canvas boards for my surface, the prices will be pretty cheap – $15 for the 8x10s and $20 for the 9x12s. I may even do some personalized abstract ones that leave space for a baby picture to be inserted into it (I have a great idea on how to do that one pretty easily) with their first name spelled out underneath.
I’m VERY excited and have put in a couple emails to some eBay artists I’ve bought from to find out how they built up their clientele.
That sounds like a fantastic idea, even though I was looking forward to seeing all those pretty teacups and teapots…
The teacup didn’t turn out so cute – I’ll still try a teapot painting, though. But the teacups are out (in my opinion).
I’d be interested in one of the photo add type.
You might want to check out etsy.com — it’s like a cool little eBay for artists. Very cute paintings!
