House Becoming a Home

Yesterday I took the time to hang some pictures around the house. We still have a lot that we haven’t put up yet. The guest room had NO pictures up, but now there are five pictures hanging in that room, as well as the valance curtains that I just never managed to find the time to put up. But that room is looking AWESOME now. The only thing left is to figure out what I’m going to put over the bed, and what to do about getting nightstands in there. The room currently has a mishmash of furniture – nothing really matches, but fortunately it doesn’t look too horrible. In the long run we plan on putting the master bedroom furniture in there (which DOES match) and getting new stuff for our room. But that won’t be for another year or so. In the meantime, I’d like to get some nightstands in that room, even if they are cheap ones. I may go to Target this week and see what they have.

I also put up our frog painting from Hawaii in CootieBoy’s room. Tonight I’ll hang up the two Finding Nemo paintings that my mom gave us. What I REALLY need to do in his room is put up the Finding Nemo border. That’ll make the room look a lot better (because it currently looks like he has a partially painted wall). I also noticed last night when I was putting him to bed that I forgot to remove the painter’s tape from the baseboard in his room! It’s still there!! I haven’t painted in that room since OCTOBER.
