We ordered our replacement dishwasher yesterday from Lowe’s. It should be in the store in the next week or so and then we’ll be all set. In the meantime we can’t use our current dishwasher anymore – Denis turned it on this morning and water began going everywhere. So it’s back to the good old days in Queens when we (and by “we” I mean “Denis”) handwashed every single thing we used.
Last night at around 10:30 p.m. we got a call from Lowe’s saying, “We have in our computer that you are expecting delivery tomorrow but that’s not the case.” Denis told them we knew it was going to take 10 days or so for it to arrive. You would think the woman would then put in her computer to have Lowe’s call us when it arrives in the store. But noooo….this morning at 7:40 a.m. we got another call from Lowe’s telling us the dishwasher was NOT being delivered today.
In other news, Lowe’s is my favorite big box. Back when we got our washer/dryer set we got three rebates: free delivery, $100 gift card, 3 years of Tide HE laundry detergent. They honored all rebates and I was quite pleased. With the order of the dishwasher we used the $100 gift card. And they are offering two rebates for dishwasher purchases over $297 (which ours was): free delivery and a $50 giftcard. So obviously it “pays” to shop at Lowe’s, as Denis said yesterday.
