What a startlingly well-done movie. I want to get that out there immediately. I was very impressed with how sincere this film was to the people that died on that flight on that fateful September 11, 2001.
The movie doesn’t just follow the flight itself but also gives insight into what was going on in the various air command centers on the east coast as well as at the military command. I was amazed when I saw during the credits that a fair portion of those people were playing themselves, which is appropro given the technical nature of their jobs that might be difficult for an actor to portray.
The movie follows a 90-minute timeline, which at times makes the movie a bit slow, but still riveting. However, it is the final ten minutes that are truly amazing. Obviously it is a re-creation based on supposition of the final moments on the flight, but it is truly inspiring and sad all at the same time.
I like that the filmmaker specifically hired actors who weren’t big names, but still recognizable. It would have detracted if the movie had big name stars. So kudos for that.
It’s a very powerful movie, and worth renting.
4 stars out of five.
I’m glad you liked it. I think it’s the best of the 9/11 movies (film and TV) that has been done so far.
