It got good reviews at Netflix, and they were all right. This was a GREAT movie.
Based on a true story, it’s the tale of “Price & Sons”, a small men’s shoe factory in England which, after the death of it’s 3rd generation Price boss, attempts to revive the factory under the 4th generation Price – a man with no aptitude or desire to work in shoes. Rather than let the factory go under, he hits upon the idea to make women’s shoes for men – drag queens, specifically – after “saving” a drag queen from thugs.
Therein lies the tale of the drag queen who saves the shoemaker’s shop, and the shoemaker’s shop who saves the drag queen. All in all a great tale, one based on an actual shoemaker in England.
Very well acted, this is a little movie with a big heart. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
