The Music Collection

Well, did I ever tell you that Denis found the J-Ls in our CD collection? Yeah, he found ’em last week. Just in the nick of time too because I had made the final decision (after waffling several times) to move forward and just leave open about 100 slots in case we ever found them. Well, he found them and in the matter of days he also managed to do the entire remaining CD collection into the CD wallets.

That project is officially DONE. We didn’t run out of room in the wallets, which was a relief since Denis and I debated whether they’d fit (I said they would, he said we’d need to buy one more). Now, we’ll definitely need to buy one within a couple years if we keep buying a lot of music, but I’m just glad we don’t have those infernal CD cases anymore. Next time we move? No packing up 20+ small-but-heavy boxes of CDs – just take the six wallets with us! YAY!!! I like what we’ve done so much I MAY see if they make DVD wallets as well since we have no room for those either.

In other news, I have been able to add a few more songs to my MP3 player. Denis thinks I’ll run out of room there too, but I told him I shouldn’t, since there are a lot of CDs in our collection that will NOT be going on the MP3 player (this means you, Bob Dylan). I have 2440 songs on there right now. I haven’t been saving entire CDs onto my player – just songs I like, and obviously not the entire musical catalogs of artists we have. I mean, Denis has four Johnny Cash cds, but only three of his SONGS are on my MP3 player because I’m not a huge fan. Denis has 10 Mary Chapin Carpenter cds and not a single MCC track is on my MP3 player. Out of a total of 38133 MB of space, I have 27540 MB left in free space. So it seems like I can easily fit at least another 6000 songs on there. And even though I’m only up to “Collins” (as in Edwyn) in our CD collection, I am confident that I’ll be able to fit all the songs I *want* on there.

They do make the dvd wallets with the dvd on the left side and the insert on the right. I can’t remember which catalog I saw them in but I have it at home. I’ll come back to let you know.
