It’s about time we finally watch one of our Netflix movies. We have not done well recently – we’ve had “The Matador” for almost two months at this point. I’m sending it back tomorrow since I highly doubt I’ll EVER watch it at this point.
But last night I did talk Denis into watching “Collateral” starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. It’s the story of Max, a cabdriver (Foxx) who takes pride in his part-time job as he hopes to eventually have his own limo business. One night he picks up Vincent (Cruise) who offers him $600 to drive him to 5-6 locations in LA and then return him to the airport for his flight. Max agrees, but at the first stop a body comes flying out an apartment window and lands on his car, and he quickly realizes that Vincent is not the perfect customer after all – he’s a hit man.
It’s a good movie, was well acted and well directed (by Michael Mann who definitely has a look to his films, doesn’t he?). As much as I hate Tom Cruise I thought he did a nice job as the hitman – I like that he changed his voice ever-so-slightly. And Jamie Foxx as just great.
Definitely worth the rental and I’m glad I didn’t let the movie sit around too long without watching it or else I would have lost interest in ever seeing it, just like I did with Matador.
3 1/2 wolves wandering LA out of five.
