It’s HUGE

Our entertainment center arrived yesterday. It’s gigantic. If I had ordered the bookcases that go on the outer sections then it would have been too big for the wall. It’s that big. But it works, because the 55″ tv that we got? It’s HUGE. And very nice.

Today the kids have enjoyed watching “Finding Nemo”, “The Prince of Egypt” and “Aladdin” (yes, it was a stay-inside, Disney movie day today).

I also got the mega-cases that I bought for our CD collection. I talked Denis into getting rid of all the cd cases and just keeping the cover art and the actual CD. He agreed and the six cd wallets arrived today. Each CD wallet holds 568 cds. I was able to get A-Col in the first case, leaving 50 spaces open for future purchases. Which leads me to believe we may have to buy a seventh case to fit our entire collection. Yowsah. But it sure felt nice to get rid of all those cases. Moving next time is going to be so much easier just because we won’t have 12 boxes of CDs to pack up!

In other news, we realized that there is a hornet nest on the front of our house. How did we find out? Four hornets in the house in two days. Fortunately there have been none today, but those four were also quite large and daunting. We’re going to bring out a guy this week to spray and remove the nest.

Denis is continuing to rock the house on the unpacking. I came home from work yesterday to find the living room in great shape and the kitchen completely presentable! I’m hoping we can go to the town dump this week and get rid of some of the moving boxes from the garage. I think half the boxes in the garage are actually EMPTY. But our trash service will only take 3 unbroken-down boxes and about 10-15 broken down boxes (I think those numbers are what Denis told me). In any case if we did that once a week we’d never be rid of those boxes.

Tomorrow at 2 p.m. I have to go to the new office location and unpack everything. Not looking forward to that. I can’t believe that they expect us to come in on a weekend to unpack so that we can hit the ground running on Monday morning. Are we getting paid for this weekend work? Somehow I doubt it. But you can bet I’ll be submitting my overtime for staying late to help Mr. BIL pack his office and get some extra work done.
