Weekend Plans

We have none. Or, I should say, *I* have none. Denis has made plans. He plans on taking CootieGirl to a baseball game tomorrow night – the Charlotte Knights, the local AAA team, is playing a home game that will not only have fireworks but will involve the players wearing pink as a fundraiser for breast cancer research (or something like that). I will be staying home with CootieBoy.

Denis also mentioned going to the zoo this weekend, but I don’t know when he thinks we’re going to do that. Maybe Monday?

In any event, when I left for work this morning our parking lot was empty which means that everyone in our building went on vacation this weekend and left last night or super early this morning. Or they moved out without us hearing a thing. But I think since our next door neighbor still has her collection of ceramic dogs in the front window it means that she and her family are on vacation.

What about you? Any big plans?

I’m going to organize my CD collection. Right now they are stacked up on my desk and the window sill.

I’ll be doing that in a few weeks when we move into our house, Uncle Bill! I don’t look forward to that job since we have almost 2000 cds and I did NOT pack them in any particular order. And since I’m very OCD about having my CDs in alphabetical order it’s going to be a nightmare!! Hope your task goes quickly so you can have some fun over the holiday weekend…

We’re cleaning the house and prepping the nursery for the baby furniture when we get that.

And if you guys definitely come down for Homecoming then make sure you leave a lot of room for carting back the stuff we still have to give you.

Sweetie, I think you have limited OCD. You will alphabetize the CDs and arrange them once, then as you and I pull them off the shelves, they will sit around out of order until I get around to putting them back. Actually, I’m the one that likes things in order, clean, neat. Your mom will probably atest to that.

I arrange mine by category (chamber music, Anglican church; British composers; other classical; and general) and then alpha.

However limited, I DO like my DVDs/Videos/CDs in alphabetical order. And now that I have my MP3 player that will hold 10,000+ songs I’ll never need to pull CDs off the shelf again once they are all loaded, so once I put them up there, they are YOURS to deal with since I’ll not need them again. =)

As long as you can promise we won’t lose all that data, we can sell all of them on ebay and see if we can make a few bucks. I spent over $10,000 on all of the CDs I bought. I’m sure we spent over $15,000 on what we own, probably more than that. Even if we could only get $3k or $4k, we’d be able to buy something good with that cash. Something to think about.

Well obviously there’s no guarantee that we won’t lose the songs saved on the computer. And besides, I’m loading up ENTIRE cds onto my MP3 player – I’m only load 1/2 the songs unless it’s a particularly good cd. But I would be willing to purge some of the CDs that I don’t really care that much about, or that only have 1-2 good songs. I’m sure there’s a used record store near us that would give $3-5 per CD depending on what/who it is. Sell 200 cds at $3 and you’ve got a decent $600 that could go in the “family vacation fund”.
