Barry Manilow, oh how I love you – let me count the ways.

1. You LOVE American Idol and are not ashamed to admit it.
2. You seem like a genuinely nice guy.
3. You make even crappy singers sing great.
4. Your live album from the 1970s still rocks.

Now on to the show. You know why Barry Manilow is fabulous? He helped Kevin Covais actually do a GREAT job last night. That’s how. You know why Barry Manilow is great? Because he told Mandisa that she could work with him anytime. You know why Barry Manilow is great? Cuz he just IS.

The great: Mandisa, Chris and Katherine.
The bad: Bucky and Ace.
The good: Everyone else.

Seriously, what a GREAT show last night and I chalk it ALL up to Mr. Manilow’s amazing ability to hone in on what the singers needed to do with their performances.
