Back on WW For Me

So this week I’m back on Weight Watchers. I’ve gained back 4 of the 25 I lost in the first part of this year. This week I’ll be eating oatmeal for breakfast, then a WW lunch and a WW dinner, with WW for dessert. By Friday this will get old, but I also hope to have lost 2 of the 4 pounds I gained by next Monday. I’m also increasing my water intake despite what experts say.

And I told myself I’m not going to eat any more desserts or sweets at home and no more beer or alcohol until I get to under 180 lbs. And maybe start light exercise. I don’t do anything light. I know that. We’ll see how it goes. What happened to exercise or swimming at Aces? Or walking Cooper every night? Or….

I feel your pain. I had lost 5 lbs before my trip…how? I stopped eating anything with sugar in the evening and tried to cut back on my sugar consumption during the day (not always successful on that with the large candy jar at my desk). I didn’t do anything else different and managed to drop the 5 lbs in about 2 weeks.

Of course, I managed to gain that back while in Chicago – we ate out the whole time and at odd hours on a couple of evenings.

You can lose weight easy on WW, the point system is pretty good. Try to eat three meals a day plus two snacks(you can fit this into the daily amount of points), and drink a lot of water. Eat good, exercise at least thirty minutes, three times a week, and THINK about what you WANT, NOT about what you don’t want for yourself! The weight will fly off!

Thanks for the encouragement, Rob! I know about how great WW is – I did it for 3 months with fabulous results (25 pounds gone). With any luck (and hard work) I’ll lose another 20-25 pounds in the next three months (although I’m giving myself to year’s end).

With any luck and healthier cooking by me, you’ll lose it. I don’t like adhering to number two though.

P.S., as you can see the word “null” comes up in the three fields above regardless if I’m remembered or forgotten, no matter what browser I use. Not happy.

Tara – you had better hop on AIM RIGHT NOW, missy.

Denis – I don’t know why it does that for everyone BUT me, but we’ll fix it tonight. I think I know the problem.

    Indeed, much luck to you!

Now about that candy jar… kindly empty it in my direction – you see I skipped lunch today, and let me tell you, I will gnaw a chunk off anything if I’m not fed soon. Carpet samples and tourists beware – you are not exempt.

I have been eating a bowl of oatmeal every morning and either running for a half hour a night or lifting for a half hour and I have been steadily dropping the occasional pound.

My problems is that I like to eat and I like to cook. That does not help at all.

    DomitianX,

I like to cook and eat too. That’s half of Jaynee’s and my problem. Plus she doesn’t like sweating — so exercise is out. I just started “running” on our eliptical machine for a half hour again. I know that combined with a health dose of sit-ups and push-ups, make me feel much better. That and staying away from the beer. Wish both us luck. And you too.

My wife doesnt like to sweat either, well not THAT kind of sweating anyways. Since she doesnt like to exercise we have been taking the occasional walk, or just getting out of the house for a while to a local fair or something.

I have always been the more health conscious one in our house and I am finally starting to get her to look at labels, park a little farther away at the mall, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.

We also quit drinking sugared pop like Mountain Dew and started drinking caloric-free pop (I hate the word diet), water or Kool-Aid. Once she quit drinking Mountain Dew, she noticed her pants were feeling looser and that was the kicker for her. Now she is really starting to get into the whole healthier living lifestyle.

Since I do love to cook though, I have been watching more FoodTV lately and started trying the recipes on “Cooking Thin”. They have some really good recipes on there. Simple things like eating more rice instead of potatoes can go a long way to shrinking the waiste line. Every little bit helps and over time it will become a lifestyle rather than a “diet”.

I cant keep away from the beer though. I love a good stout.
