Last night I had the privilege of accepting an invitation to be Glad-ball’s matron of honor at her wedding in August. The new diet and exercise regimes begins today. I’ve been loathe to step on a scale recently since I KNOW that I’ve gained weight in the past two months (my clothes are telling). But I was shocked at the number I saw this morning.
So I have six months to get some of these pounds off. My goal is to lose 30 pounds by the wedding. That’s five pounds a month.
Starting tonight, after the kids go to bed Denis is going to help me with push ups and sit ups. That’s what I’ll use to work on my stomach muscles and arm strength. I’ll also bring home my small weights from the church office and do those at night as well.
I also told Denis that I’ll be bringing out his bike from the shed. I’m gonna clean it up and buy a helmet and begin riding the bike. I’m also going to pull out all of my aerobic videos and begin doing those in the morning. Due to finances I had to quit the YMCA, so I’m on my own this time out.
I’m also on a sort-of diet. No more buying food from the cafeteria downstairs. I brought in three Lean Cuisines today to finish out the week of lunches. The good news is that will not only lessen my waist but it’ll fatten up my wallet by not spending that money every day. And since I gave up sweet snacks at work for Lent, I should be okay on that front for the next 40 days while I get into the swing of the new work eating habits. And lastly, combine that with no more chocolate milk and juice at home and I should be able lose weight pretty efficiently during the Lenten season.
It’s gonna be a HARD battle – but I’ve gotta do it. Especially after what I saw on the scale this morning.
What a great idea. Maybe this spring *end of march* I will go and purchase a new bike. Then we can loose the pounds together. :cheer:

Good luck, Jaynee, I know you can do it! I’m right there with you, as I’d like to shed a few pounds before returning to work!
Yes, you CAN do it! We are going to start something around here, too. Right, Sweetie?
