No Desire

Today is one of those days when I have no desire to be at work. None. Zip. Nada. Zilch. I’m in one of those moods that demands I sleep all morning, watching a little Days of Our Lives, drink lots of chocolate milk and eat lots of potato chips and just waste the day. Mr. Sutherland is out today on a vacation day, and I’m jealous.

I have 184 hours (23 days) off this year an addition to 64 hours (8 days) for holidays. I have used 7 hours thus far and will be using 40 hours in May for our trip to Florida. be using 16 hours (2 days) in December for visiting my family in VA. I’ll be using at least one day (8 hours) in August for Glad-ball’s wedding. That leaves me with an additional 113 hours (14+ days) and we’re already in the last full week of February. Maybe I’ll take a day off next week just for a mental health day. Then another on in early April.

Because once May hits the summer will be nice – our trip to Florida, Memorial Day, my birthday (which I always take off as a vacation day), July 4th weekend, Glad-ball’s wedding, Labor Day. Every month from May – September I’ll have some time off due to holidays and pre-planned vacation time. By the time Labor Day is over I should still have at least 11 days left, barring no major illnesses that require I take days off. Eleven days to use in three months! WOW!

Update at 9:54 a.m.: Our network here at The Company is down so I had time to just sit and write out a potential vacation schedule for the rest of the year:

Feb 28, Tues
Mar 24, Fri
Apr 19, Wed
May 15-19, Mon-Fri
June 19-20, Mon-Tues
July 5, Wed
Aug 25, Fri
Sept 5, Tues
Oct 9, Mon
Nov 10, Fri
Dec 22, 26-27, Fri, Tues-Wed

This still gives me an additional 4.125 days to use for sick time if needed. And every month I get a day off. That’s just….sweet.

Hey, we could win the MegaMillions tonight. What’s it up to $170 Mill? That would make tomorrow go a lot easier.
