TV: AI5 Tonight! and 7th Heaven Sucks

So excited that Hollywood week is finally here. No more bad auditions to sit through (and there were some choice ones last night). Now is when the show gets interesting and the frontrunners become more obvious.

I wasn’t overly impressed with the folks that got through last night – none of them were “wow”. I think by the end of the process the judges just don’t care anymore and will take anyone who looks pleasing and has a half-decent voice. Simon didn’t sign off on any of the featured ‘good’ singers last night, and rightly so.

As for Seventh Heaven, the towering pinnacle of family programming, it was a really weird episode this week. I freely admit to watching this ultra-cheesy, poorly-acted, horribly-scripted tv show. I can’t help it. I’ve been watching since Season One and can’t turn my back now as it enters the final phase of it’s existence. But this past episode featuring Michael Feinstein? Just weird. It was Ruthie-centric and was not a typical episode as far as pacing. Add to that the scene of Rose singing “Embraceable You” to Simon and you get me almost turning off the tv. Almost. :sarcastic:
