So last night I got carried away and stayed up until 1:30 a.m. working on the floorplans. I’m just a tad obsessed.
The graphics below actually aren’t even the true final product. One change on particular – the master closet was turned into TWO closets, with entry doors in the hall way, and are now 6’6″ wide as opposed to 5’10”. Because of that change the master bath also became more of a rectangle, now coming in at 12’9″ x 8’10”.
Also, the bathroom next to the home theater on the second floor was widened to 6′ x 10′ per Denis’ request.
All in all I’m pretty pleased with what we’ve come up with, and the final hour of my playing last night was creating the kitchen cabinets so that Denis can begin thinking about placement. I also put in all the things required in the master bathroom.
After we get back from our trip to VA I think I’ll be tackling the front porch and back deck/garage. I played with the roofing generator last night and it doesn’t look ANYthing like the roof we want, but I figure I’ll wait and do that officially once we have the front porch all planned out, since that’ll be under-roof as well.
Updated floor plans:
I thought you didn’t like to walk into a house and see the Dining Room on one side and the Living Room on the other?
My favorite would have to be the one you did yesterday.
True dat, yo. however, I’m hoping we can put french doors on the dining entry to complement the pocket doors on the living entry, to provide some feeling of separation. A couple of people on my home building forum hated the fact I had no real “foyer”, but right now in our current house, as you know, we have NOTHING, so that long hallway is fantastic in my eyes – it’s a wide hallway (6’4″) that leads directly to great room, which will be a dramatic space.
Long hallway = nice art gallery, too.
I like it.
