I found an email in my box this morning. It was sent around 5 p.m. yesterday and all it said was “No baby yet, slow cervix. will let you know. rob.” A man of few words in times of baby labor. Actually, I’m quite thrilled that we’re on the list of folks he’s keeping in contact with as Tara struggles her way through childbirth.
But it’s now almost 9 a.m. of the second day – a full 40+ hours since she first went into labor. My aunt was in labor for 42 hours for her first baby. A co-worker for 48 before they finally decided to do a C-section. I wonder if Tara has had the baby by now and Rob is in such fatherly bliss he hasn’t emailed us. I hope that’s the case. I told Denis last night, “If we still lived in Queens I’d totally be at the hospital with them right now!”
As for when I get preggers, I’m totally going with a C-section. I want to know time and date of baby’s arrival and plan accordingly. Because I am a planner. I debated on whether I wanted to know the sex of the baby, and have decided that I do. Because I am a planner. How on earth am I supposed to do ANYthing without knowing if I’m having a boy or a girl?
I don’t think Denis wants to know what we’re going to have. He wants to be surprised. So I’ll have to decorate the baby’s room in green and yellow so that he has no clue.
And no, folks, I’m not pregnant (yet).
