This place cracks me up. I love my new company.
About an hour ago I created three macros in Word to call up documents that I use on a regular basis (fax cover sheet, internal memo and letterhead). I then closed Word and then went to re-open to test the macros. But it wouldn’t open, and I got a “Winword has generated an error” kind of message.
I went in and erased my normal.dot file and voila, Word opened back up – but my macros were gone.
I called our Help Desk to see if they had any insight, and they said they had no idea why it wouldn’t work. Since this place has a lot of computer restrictions in place, I asked if they had a restriction on macros. He said no. I asked him another back-end Word question and he said, “Truthfully, you know Word better than anyone here at this Company, so if you don’t know the answer, we definitely won’t know the answer.”
That cracked me up. And so on I go to the Internet to find out what my normal.dot file got all screwy. Ta ta!
Smarty Pants.
