Up Again

Guess who’s up again at 2:45 a.m.?

Yep. I’m still congested, my throat is killing me, I have a hacking cough and it hurts to swallow. I’m sick! :thud: At least I don’t have a fever anymore – that ended last night. But nothing says, “stay away from the sickie” quite like the voice of Lucille Ball after smoking three packs a day for 20 years.

Despite still being contagious, I will be going to work later on today – with any luck my bosses will take pity on me after a few hours and send me home. We’ll see – they may not since I leave Wednesday evening for our vacation. They might want to squeeze every last ounce of work out of me before then.

What sucks most besides the whole painful throat thing is the fact that every night since Thursday I’ve been up at 2:45 a.m. with insomnia. And usually at least an hour before that I have really obsessive compulsive dreams. Thursday night I spent about an hour dreaming an endless game of Bejeweled, which I had downloaded to my phone earlier that evening. I finally woke up at 2:45 a.m. with the hopes of getting it out of my head. Friday night I dreamt of floorplans. In my head I kept changing the dimensions of the rooms in the floorplan I like, trying to make the house fit the four-foot model (meaning all dimensions of hallways, closets and rooms are divisible by four in order to save money on the labor and cost of sheetrocking. Once again, after an hour of that torture I finally got up at 2:45 a.m.

Tonight’s misery had to do with house details. Earlier this evening we had the girls over who will be taking care of the kids while we’re out. So for an hour I dreamed about all the things I forgot to tell the girls that need to be written down. I’ve already warned them they’ll get a document longer than the Magna Carta.

This may be :tmi:, but add copious amounts of phlegm to the list of maladies from which I suffer.

Sounds like a sinus infection…better get some antibiotics before your trip, just in case it gets worse. I wish you a speedy recovery!

My thought was maybe you have strep. The symptoms are a very soar throat and fever. You need to get a throat swab at the doctor and if it is positive, the rest of the family needs to be tested as well.

Mr. Russell told me that once I get my presentation done he’s gonna let me go so I can visit an urgent care center to have a strep test done.
