So you have questions about who we are. As if our painstaking blog isn’t enough for you.
About Jaynee
- Jaynee likes candy
- I like to read – I frequently have at least 25-30 books waiting to be read
- I went to W.T. Woodson High School and hated almost every minute of it.
- I then attended Gardner-Webb University graduating with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and a minor in History. And I loved every minute there.
- I was a raver in the Washington, D.C. area from 1991 – 1996, but still went out occasionally in 1997 before I got married. My favorite club was Tracks (now may it RIP).
- I’ve been married over 19 years to Denis.
- We have two kids: CootieGirl and CootieBoy.
- Since graduating from college twenty-five years ago I have had approximately fifteen jobs, not counting the various temp jobs I held from 1993-1995 (I lumped those in as one job).
- All of these jobs have been in the secretary/word processor genre.
- My top three favorite movies are West Side Story, My Fair Lady, and Shaun of the Dead, with Auntie Mame coming in a close fourth.
- I was born on Whidbey Island in Washington state.
- I love reality tv and am not ashamed to admit it. Â Big Brother is the biggest guilty pleasure in that genre.
- Jaynee likes candy – oh wait, I said that already.
- My favorite book is A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. Go buy it right now. You won’t regret it.
- Theme song: ‘Dancing Queen’ by Abba
- I was once addicted to buying Yankee Candles and towels I’ll never need or use.
- I’m a lousy cook but I can bake the hell out of cookies or a cake.
- I like to plan things but rarely actually do them or complete projects. I’m a great organizer but need fledglings to do the work for me.
- I failed Chemistry in high school. Twice.
- I failed Geometry once in high school.
- My senior year of college I got my highest GPA ever – taking classes like speech, drama, and film.
- I have only shoplifted once – a lipstick from a WalMart store in North Carolina. Don’t ask me why – it wasn’t even a good color.
- I’ve played the piano since I was seven years old.
- I don’t remember what I wanted to be “when I grew up”tm.
- When I was a little girl I was a major tomboy and 1) almost drowned, 2) fell from many trees, and 3) almost caught my plastic raincoat on fire on the radiator (while wearing it, mind you).
- When I was really young I had a blanket named “BaBa” that I carried everywhere with me a la Linus from Peanuts. I lost BaBa to our dog Pretzel when we moved from England to Virginia and left him behind due to strict quarantine laws.
- I worship Bill Gates and all things PC and Microsoft. I refuse to own anything with a lowercase i in front of the name. Â DOWN WITH MAC AND APPLE!
- When I find something funny I laugh VERY loudly.
- Back in the day I was a GREAT dancer.
- My first car was a mud-brown 1973 Plymouth Duster previously owned by my uncle. I loved that car.
- I have a crush on many Fake Boyfriends, including Anderson Cooper and Colin Firth, just to name a couple.
- If I were to have one last meal, it would be filet mignon cooked medium rare (or meatloaf (all American girl, I am)), Brussels sprouts with bacon (or a baked potato slathered in butter), applesauce, and a large glass of chocolate milk with Malibu Rum. For dessert it would be either pumpkin pie or angel food cake – depending on how full I was already.
- I hate the beach but love to waterski, I love the snow but hate to snowski. Go figure.
- I’m left-handed but do nearly everything with my right hand anyway.
- My favorite colors are navy blue, purple and silver.
- I have arachnophobia, which is a deathly fear of spiders. Just typing the word made me shiver. No joke.
- I love for people to laugh with me but hate the thought of people laughing at me unless I’m intentionally trying to be funny.
- When I’m driving alone in the car I sing along with the radio at the top of my lungs as though I’m on stage before thousands of screaming fans.
- My favorite thing to do is take a nap. There’s no thing finer.
- I can type approximately 120 word per minute when it’s off the top of my head. The number drops to 100Â or so when I’m typing something from another medium.
- My favorite tv show of all time is “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (may it RIP) but “Community” is pretty darn awesome, too.
- Malibu Rum is the finest rum on the planet.
About Denis
- Obviously, by the photo, I like to cock my head a lot.
- I hate dancing, but I love walking. Walking is my preferred mode of transportation.
- I never owned a car until mid-2001.
- I never had a pet until I got married. Now I have a dog and two cats.
- Of course, I’m a N.Y. Mets baseball fan.
- I expect to finish writing a screenplay before I leave this earth. I also hope to start writing one first.
- The Beatles — best band ever. And I’m loyal to my boyz, The Monkees.
- I don’t get my hair cut often enough. I hated getting hair cuts so much when I was a teenager that I didn’t get it cut for over a year or two. I have the horrible Junior High School picture to prove it.
- I like making people laugh more than laughing. And I don’t mind if they laugh at me.
- I’m as stubborn as Jane. (comment from Jane: he’s more stubborn than me)
- I prefer cement over grass, but oddly enough, grass over artificial turf.
- I hate sand.
- I drink seltzer but no other carbonated beverages.
- I like micro-brews, Guinness, Tanqueray and tonics, and 7&7’s; no lite beers, please.
- Don’t like television very much.
- I don’t remember failing any class after elementary school and before college. I failed first-year college calculus. That’s when I switched schools and became an English major.
- I took a semester off between colleges and pretty much did nothing but listen to Elvis Presley tunes and “find” myself, until my dad discovered I wasn’t going to school any more — then I found a new school.
- I graduated from Newtown H.S. in Elmhurst, Queens, and Queens College.
- I’d like to learn to play the piano one day. Doubt it will ever happen.
- I speak no foreign languages. I know about a dozen phrases in Spanish that I use from time to time.
- Not into big celebrations of my birthday, but get upset if people don’t remember when it’s my birthday and wish me good luck.
- I love cooking. And baking cupcakes.
- Favorite book: George Orwell’s 1984. I’ve read it at least a half dozen times.
- Rarely read books. Last fiction book I read was Dickens’s A Christmas Carol. (I read it almost every Christmas.) The last book before that was probably 1984, about fifteen years ago.
- Used to read the newspaper every morning. Once failed to get a job with Fox News Online because I told the head of operations “Why would anyone want to read the news online?” Now, that’s the only way I get my news. CNN.com, NYTimes.com and NY Daily News mostly.
- I’m right handed. (I think Hitler was left handed. I’m not implying anything.)
- I think sleep is a waste of time, but necessary.
- I’ve never done butt exercises.
- I would weigh 440 pounds on Jupiter, but I think I’d still be 17 and 3/4 hands tall in horse and pony measurements.
- New York City is still the best place on the planet.
- I met Jaynee in an online chat room.
- I’ve been to one rave and hated the entire six or eight hours I was there. I’ll do anything for love.
- I once bowled a 202.
- I never ate fish as a kid, only shrimp. I couldn’t stand the little bones. Now I eat most kinds of seafood, except for raw oysters. Might as well be eating snot.
- I’ve never been the best man at a wedding. I’ve only been a member of one wedding party besides my own.
- Chocolate rum cordials are delicious.
- I’m notorious for eating lots of hot dogs at the ballpark.
