As sequels go, this one was pretty good. The original, “Meet the Parents”, starring Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro, was witty and fun. The second was also fun, with us meeting Stiller’s parents, portrayed by Dustin Hoffman (who I think is nuts – truly – I don’t think he was “acting” in this movie) and Barbra Streisand (who was hilarious). The best thing about this movie was that it wasn’t a rehashing of the original plot, but it did make references to the original movie. I found that refreshing – too often a sequel is just the same plot, different day. Not so with “Fockers”.
