So today Mr. Russell checked in from his vacation to see how things were going here at The Company. I gave him a quick run down of what I’ve accomplished (all but Ms and Ns of business cards, 7 call reports, training tomorrow and Friday) at which point he said, “That’s great – hey do me a favor, send me an email with your home and cell phone numbers so that if I think of anything I need after hours I can give you a call.”
… :thud:
Anyone that knows me well knows that I do NOT like being called about work in my personal time. It’s one thing if I’ve called in sick to work and you have a question that only I can answer, but if it’s my personal time (vacation or non-work hours), I do NOT like being called about work and expected to do something about it. :whatever:
I sent him the numbers, but I’ll nip that in the bud if he starts calling me with stupid crap that can wait until working hours. :eyebrow: I’m not a 24/7 kind of girl. The ONLY times I’m available are normal working hours or OT for special projects. Don’t be calling me at 9 p.m. on a Friday night to ask me to book travel for Monday. Jaynee don’t play that way and you should have remembered that on Friday afternoon before I left for the day.
ARE-YOU-KIDDING-ME-?
I can’t believe you actually forwarded the information to him *lol* … I will put that down to shock to your system.
I would nip it in the bud today and let him know if you speak to him again, that he should only call you at home if it is an extreme emergency as you have two young children (as well as 4 cats, a dog, a fish, a parakeet, a husband, flowers, and a tree which is listing to the right) to take care of … See what his reply will be to that !
I mentioned at lunch about the request and the two HR ladies were horrified. *lol* they agreed that the first time he calls with something unreasonable I should immediate tell him it’s unacceptable and set specific parameters. so that’s what i’ll do.
:scared:
