Mr. Russell and the facilities manager came over and asked for my input on my workspace area. Apparently the construction downstairs has gotten to the point where they can now begin working on my work area (if you recall, I’m now working in an office on the opposite side of the office until my area is constructed). After a brief debate we came up with a workable solution that will be decent. I’ll end up with some privacy (a 5 foot wall blocking me from the hallway), a “hidden” computer area (so no one can see my computer screen or walk up behind me), and lots of space to move around.
It sounded as though some minor construction would happen (removal of vent, larger light installed) and then I’d be moved in. Estimated time of completion: one to two weeks.
In other news, Mr. Russell is in this week and then on vacation for the next 2 weeks. I mentioned that it would be the perfect time to learn the sales software he wants me to be the lead on, and he agreed. So I just need to email our IT guy today to set up in-house training for me late next week.
