Okay, let’s say that someone has a file on their website and I want to make a copy for myself. For the sake of reference, it’s a file that is readily available and the people WANT me to be able to play it. When the file is playing in my viewer (whether it be Windows Media Player or Quicktime or Real Player), how do I get it to save on my computer so I can burn it to CD and take it with me?

Go to the original link and right-click it, and select “Save file as” or “Save link as” (depending on your browser), then it’ll save the file to your hard drive. You can then play it, burn it, what-have-you.
Hope that helps!
