My pal Ace sent me this article announcing that EZPass is going to charge users in New Jersey a $1-per-month fee to use the service. I’m not so concerned about that since most of the other states that have EZPass charge their users that fee already.
But I am upset about this little nugget: “Gov. James E. McGreevey said he also wants to cut E-ZPass toll discounts on the Garden State Parkway.” Now, maybe you don’t drive on the GSP very much, but I do – I live two miles from it and use it semi-regularly. This is so not the way to get re-elected, Mr. Governor.
You need to write the governor’s office and tell him if he messes with the toll discount on the GSP, you’ll create a coalition and boycott any re-election attempts on his part, or something like that. Strong arm him.
I don’t use the Virginia SmnartTag much anymore, but I know that Virginians would be pretty ticked if they stopped the discounts for tag users. That’s the whole point for having the tag for me, it’s not that much faster…people in this area don’t know how to drive.
