It’s 5:55 p.m. and I’m still at work. I’m working on a presentation for one of my bosses and he’s keeping me waiting on a SINGLE EDIT.
It’s been a really busy day today – I had to make 35 books for one boss who was traveling. They had to be done by the time the 3 p.m. courier arrived to take them to the client’s office. At 2:20 p.m. we were in the home stretch and the analyst working on the project came running in, saying, “I forgot a page!” Which meant all 35 books had to be taken apart so she could insert the page. Then somehow the tab for the second exhibit came up missing and yadda yadda yadda it was way more stress than *I* needed today.
I had hoped to post a lot more today – lots of stories to tell – but just haven’t had time. I suppose it’ll have to wait for tomorrow. Although tomorrow is going to prove busy because the semi-annual report that my boss does will be final enough tomorrow that I can begin dumping it into Adobe InDesign and get it ready for the printers. Timing originally dictated that the FINAL had to go to printers this Wednesday, but now it’s looking like the FIRST ROUND is going to come to me on Wednesday. Oh joy.
My boss is sitting in the trading room gabbing. I just hollered out that I’m waiting on the last edit and he ignored me. NOT happy. Just because he doesn’t like going home to his family doesn’t mean we all hate going home to our families. Some of us actually enjoy seeing our kids at least twice a day. As it is, I only saw CootieBoy this morning for about two minutes and if I’m here much later I’ll only see CootieGirl for a minute as she heads to bed this evening.
Working sucks. Morale is low today, folks.
Update at 6:18 p.m. – my day is finally done and I’m on my way home now. Have a good night everybody.
