70th Birthday

Today was the 70th birthday of one of the partners in my office. I was shocked when I found out a few days ago that he was turning 70. He does NOT seem that old – in fact, I presumed he was in his mid-50s. The gift he received from his family this morning? An all-terrain vehicle. FOR A SEVENTY YEAR OLD. I laughed when he told everyone that was his gift.

I was also surprised to hear he was the fourth attorney ever at this law firm, joining in 1966. People – I wasn’t even BORN yet. That’s crazy to think he has been here that long. My longest job stint was 5 years. His is 41. Amazing.

Anyway, everyone came down to a conference room for cake – I didn’t have any (I’m impressed with my own self-restraint).
