One thing I haven’t done since we moved in is take pictures of the house as WE have it decorated. I took a bunch of pictures tonight for your enjoyment – specifically, the living room and dining room.
The dining room, with it’s wonderful blue walls. I LOVE those walls. You can see a small portion of my Fiestaware on display. Eventually I’ll get curtains in that room. In the pictures the rug looks like it doesn’t match, but the “black” color in the rug is actually a blue that matches the wall perfectly:
Next, our living room (yes, our Christmas tree is still up). The cedar chest is our temporary coffee table until I can move it to the guest bedroom upon purchasing a piece for the living room. I also plan on “dressing up” the top of the two bookcases that flank the sofa (and artwork) with silk flower arrangements. Also, the cast iron bench is going to be recovered in the same floral fabric as the red pillow on the sofa.
For my mother’s benefit: No, the paintings are not hung too high. In the picture they look high, but in real life they aer a good height on the wall – not too high up. Although I admit they are about 3″ higher than we originally intended to hang them.
i love the pictures that she painted!!! i want some!
*lol* Amy, you are welcome to stop by some night and see them in person to make sure you like them enough to possibly commission one. Or you can visit her eBay store – she goes by amyKay there, and usually has a lot of tree groupings like this one available.
I too love the color in the dining room.. I Love the paintings.
Everything looks lovely and I don’t think the paintings look high in
the photo, it looks like you placed them just right.
