It’s So Twee!!

Isn’t this the sweetest painting you can possibly imagine? I think it is the true definition of “twee” – one of my favorite British slang words of all time. This painting embodies twee (which is slang for “sweet”, by the way). The artist calls it “On a Quiet Morning”.

It was up for auction on eBay. And Denis and I are on the hunt for artwork for our living room since the main wall is very expansive and demands a really dramatic piece. But during my search, I saw this picture and decided that I wanted it. So I watched the bid, worried that the painting would quickly go out of my financial reach (the artist’s average price is in the $300s). And the painting was popular – it had 16 bids total, including MY WINNING BID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And shocker of shocks – including shipping I got it for $135, which is almost 1/3 of the price of her other paintings. I cannot WAIT to get it. It’s not going in the living room – frankly, I don’t know WHERE I’m going to put it. But I will find a good focal point for it so that one and all who come to the house can see my darling twee painting.
