George Mason Rocks

Last night’s NCAA event was awesome and SO worth the trip.

I left work around noon and made it to the NoVA area around 4:30 p.m. I knew I wouldn’t make it to my parents’ house in time, so I had Dad meet me at the metro station at 4:55 p.m. By 6 p.m. we were walking into the bar where The Company was hosting an event. It was packed so we didn’t stay long. We had a slight issue with the tickets – because I didn’t put them in my name (like I wanted to but Mr. Russell said I didn’t need to), I had to know BOTH names of the people I was replacing. I only know one. Fortunately, before I left the office I had grabbed one of Mr. Russell’s business cards so I was able to prove that I wasn’t stealing the tickets.

At 6:30 p.m. we walked into the MCI Center and found our seats. We were on the corner of the court, about 15 rows back.

And what fun it was – GMU was on fire last night and really never lost too much control. They led the whole way and I think their lowest lead over Wichita State was 6 points throughout the game.

The second game was UConn v. Washington and it was a very well-matched game. But by halftime I hit a wall and was barely able to really concentrate on the game. Dad was having a good time, though, so I left him to it and headed back to VA. I got home around 12:30 a.m. and after a quick, “Hi, goodnight” to my Mom I went to bed and slept soundly until Denis called my cellphone at 8 a.m.

I love the NCAA basketball tournament.
