I keep meaning to post on one of my new favorite shows. I remember hearing about this a long time ago but only this past week did I finally see commercials for it (it shows you how little I’ve been watching Bravo lately). Anyway, my new favorite show is Long Way Round, the motorcycle documentary from Ewan McGregor and his pal, actor Charley Boorman.
I came into it a tad late – Episode 2 – but I’m hooked and hope to catch the repeats of the first episode.
If you haven’t heard about their goal – it was to ride their motorcycles for 115 days straight from London England through Europe, Russia, Alaska, Canada and finally the U.S. with New York being their final location. They only had one lone cameraman with them, and met up with the production team only at country borders. Episode 2 (the one I saw this past weekend) had them in Prague and Kiev. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this episode – Ewan and Charlie have great chemistry together and their senses of humor are a perfect foil for each other. Their party with the mafia dude with the machine gun and the guitar was surreal – and I wasn’t even there!
It’s a pity the show is on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. – that’s smackdab against Survivor. But fortunately Bravo repeats the episodes on Sundays at 1 p.m. so do try and catch it this coming weekend. It won’t disappoint!
